Tata Motors inaugurates two new dealerships in the National Capital Region


New Delhi, January 16, 2009: Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile company, today announced the opening of two new passenger vehicle dealerships in the National Capital Region (NCR). With the inauguration of ABS Motors in Gurgaon, Haryana and Rama Motors in Okhla, New Delhi, the total number of the company’s dealerships have crossed 13 in the NCR. In addition to the Tata range, the dealership will retail the Fiat range of cars, and will sport the new Tata-Fiat dealership branding.

ABS Motors in Gurgaon is a 54,000 sq. ft. modern facility, while Rama Motors in Okhla is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility, both providing sales and complete service support. Both dealerships comprise a showroom and state-of-art workshop. The workshops are equipped with modern tools, machinery and equipment and manned by qualified, experienced and trained personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. S Krishnan, Vice President – Commercial (PCBU), Tata Motors, said, “With the introduction of these two dealerships, we are offering customers in the National Capital Region a wider network with increased options and enhanced levels of support.”

The inauguration saw the presence of three senior officials from Fiat, Italy: Mr. Silverio Banfiglioli - Chief Operating Officer (FGA International Operations), Mr. Pietro Gorlier - Senior Vice President FGA Network & Owned Dealership, Mr. Giorgio Gorelli - Sales & Marketing Director (FGA International Operations), and Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, CEO of Fiat India Automobiles.

Tata Motors’ dealerships retail a comprehensive range of 5 brands:
The Indica range of compact cars
▪ The Indigo range of sedans and the Indigo Marina station wagon
▪ The Safari range of premium sports utility vehicles
▪ The Sumo range of utility vehicles

Additionally, the dealership will retail the Fiat Palio and the newly launched Fiat Linea.

In 2007-08, Tata Motors sold over 214,000 nos. of its passenger vehicles sales in the domestic market. The company rolled out its millionth vehicle on the Indica Platform in November 2007. In 2007-08, Tata Safari achieved its highest ever sales for any year since its launch. Indica continues to be second highest selling brand for the year in Indian passenger car industry. Indigo family continues to be highest selling brand in the entry mid size segment. The company has sold over 1.4 million passenger vehicles so far since inception.

2008 saw the introduction of several new products: The Sumo Grande, Indigo CS (Compact Sedan), the Indica Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) version and the all-new Indica Vista.

Tata Motors was ranked among the top 10 ‘Most Respected Companies’ in India in a survey done by Business World magazine. Tata Motors was chosen as India's Most Trusted Brand in cars for the second consecutive year, in a Readers Digest/AC Neilsen consumer survey. Business Week listed

Tata Motors among Asia's 50 Best performing companies. Tata Motors emerged as one of the Most Reputed Corporate in India according to the Corporate Reputation Index by global consultancy firm, TNS. Tata Motors was ranked as the 5th most valuable ''company brand'' in the study conducted by The Economic Times and Brand Finance, an agency which specializes in such evaluations. The Sumo and the Indica were once again adjudged among the ''Most Trusted Brands'' of India in the annual ''Most Trusted Brands'' survey conducted by ''Brand Equity'', the marketing and advertising supplement of ''The Economic Times''.
