Chevrolet Captiva Bags yet another SUV of the Year Award Wins at the prestigious NDTV Profit-Car & Bike India Awards 2009

New Delhi: Chevrolet Captiva, the premium sports utility vehicle from General Motors India added yet another award to its bounty when it won the “SUV of the Year” award conferred by NDTV Profit-Car & Bike India Awards 2009. The Chevrolet Captiva worked its way to register a strong win, and the expert jury panel had no doubts on its merits or strengths after testing it exclusively and back-to-back with its competitors.

Launched at the New Delhi 9th Auto Expo 2008, the Captiva has become one of the top sellers in the premium SUV space, with over 2,500 units sold in a little over 12 months since launch. Coming on the heels of wins such as Business Standard Motoring’s Import Car of the Year, UTVi-Autocar India’s Best SUV award and CNBC TV 18 Overdrive’s SUV of the Year, this NDTV Profit-Car & Bike Award is the Captiva’s fourth win in a row. By winning every major automotive award for its segment in the country, the Captiva is also undisputedly the most awarded SUV in the market currently.

Upbeat on the commendable achievement, Mr. P. Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India, said, “We have bagged these prestigious accolades because of GM India’s focus on our valuable Chevrolet consumers and our commitment to offer best-in-class products and services. We will continue to leverage the momentum gained and build on the inherent strengths of our products in the future as well.”

It may also be recalled that the new Captiva Automatic+ with all-wheel drive and additional exciting features, was launched in New Delhi recently to augment the success story of its manual geared, two-wheel drive sibling.
