Hyundai announces price hike up to 3% - Santro, i10 and Accent to be costlier

New Delhi, February 13, 2009: Hyundai Motor India, the country’s largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer today announced an increase in the prices of Santro, i10 and Accent across all its variants. The price hike is primarily due to rise in input cost. The price hike ranges from 1.2% to 3%.

The retail prices across these models have gone up ranging from Rs 3,601/- to Rs 14,636/-. After the price hike the flagship brand Santro will be costlier by Rs. 3,601 to Rs. 5,163, the premium hatchback i10 will be dearer by Rs. 3,974 to Rs. 7,637 and the prices of Accent have gone up by Rs. 14,636. Rest of the model range comprising of the newly launched premium hatch i20 and the premium luxury car Sonata remains unchanged as they are sill under the introductory pricing. The new Verna launched this week sports a revised price tag.

Last December HMIL had reduced the prices after the government’s announcement of a 4% reduction in Cenvat. The company had passed on the full benefit to its customers.
The new prices are applicable with immediate effect.
