Delhi: General Motors announced that the Chevrolet Optra Magnum has won the TNS Voice of the Customer Award as the ‘Best Performing Model’ in the Diesel Midsize segment, scoring 99 out of 100 in the TNS Automotive Four-Wheeler Total Customer Satisfaction (2008) Study.
Receiving the award, Mr Karl Slym, President and Managing Director, General Motors India said, “The TNS Voice of the Customer Award for the Chevrolet Optra Magnum, is the result of GM India’s single-minded focus on our valuable consumers. We will continue to offer vehicles and services which are best-in-class and continually improve to exceed our customers’ expectations.” He also said “The award is extremely significant, as it was won in a very competitive segment where the bar has been raised repeatedly in the past couple of years. Indeed, the Chevrolet Optra Magnum has gone the extra mile this year, improving its 2007 score of 93 by six points to a near-perfect 99 out of 100.”
This is the second consecutive year that General Motors India has won a prestigious award in the TNS Automotive Total Customer Satisfaction study. It may be recalled that the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA was ranked No.1 in the Upper Premium Compact Car segment in 2007. The 2008 study was the seventh conducted by TNS Automotive, honoring the best performing cars with a ‘Voice of the Customer’ award.
Providing a holistic measure of customer satisfaction, the TNS Automotive 2008 study was conducted amongst approximately 8,000 passenger car owners spread across 28 centres. The TCS (Total Customer Satisfaction) study rankings are done at the vehicle segment level to enable comparison among similar groups of vehicles.
It may also be recalled that in the JD Power India Initial Quality Study, the Chevrolet Spark has topped its segment rankings for two years in a row in 2008 and 2007, while the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA also recorded the same distinction in its segment for 2008.
General Motors India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation and has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Halol in Gujarat and Talegaon in Maharashtra. General Motors India manufactures the Chevrolet Optra Magnum, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Tavera and Chevrolet Captiva for the Indian market.
