NEW DELHI, March 22, 2009: Kartik Batra in his Swift was the proud winner at Delhi’s first night car rally, organized by India’s number one car-maker Maruti Suzuki to celebrate the launch of ‘Swift Life’, an online club called for all Swift-owners.
Maruti Suzuki has set up Swift Life to commemorate Swift becoming the fastest car model to reach the 3-lakh milestone. Mr Batra bagged a LCD TV as the winner, while first runners-up Mukesh Kaushik won a home theatre system.
The car major had organized the rally as a unique initiative to bring proud Swift owners on an official Maruti Suzuki platform. Saturday saw the first event of the Swift Life community in the form of a 40 km rally from Pragati Maidan to Mehrauli with more than 86 enthusiastic Swift-owning participants. The rally, flagged off by Maruti Suzuki Chief General Manager Mr. Shashank Srivastava, was the first night-time motor rally organized in Delhi.
Mr Srivastava said, “It is wonderful to see so many happy and enthusiastic Swift customers come together at the launch of Swift Life. Swift represents the taste of Young India that simply loves the latest and the best in the world – be it styling, technology or lifestyle. No wonder that the Swift has a large community of Young Indians who love this car for its looks and contemporary styling as much as for its driving pleasure and ride comfort. We are confident that the community of Swift owners will grow manifold in the coming years.”
The company invited all Swift owners to visit www.swift-life.com, join the online community, interact with like-minded people, and share their experience.
www.swift-life.com has high interactivity features: Freewheeling (discussion forum through user generated content moderated by site administrator), Rearview (sharing travel experience on a Swift), Opinion Please (opinion poll), Tune-Up (users can seek expert advice on issues with their cars), Freeway (free downloads), and Joystick (gaming zone).
In addition, there is a Google map application for members where Swift-owners can tag his/her car on the map by selecting a city, followed by the sector or pocket where s/he lives. Members living in that area can thus come to know about each other. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the domestic car industry.
