New Delhi, Apr 21 (PTI) The Hinduja Group today said the joint venture between its flagship company Ashok Leyland and Nissan will roll out light commercial vehicle in 2011, while it has more than halved the investment planned in the first phase.
The JV, Ashok Leyland Nissan Vehicles Pvt Ltd, had announced an investment of Rs 2,300 crore for setting up a joint production facility near Chennai, but it has now decided to scale it down.
"Things (JV with Nissan) are on schedule and everything is moving along. The first light commercial vehicle (CV) will be rolled out in 2011," Hinduja Automotive Executive Vice- Chairman V Sumantran told reporters here.
The JV will roll out "three families of light trucks" in the first phase, which will be equally distributed below 7.5 tonnes category.
