New Delhi, May 1, 2010: Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter continued to be on a growth trajectory with the domestic sales growing by 28.1% over the same month last year.
HMIL’s total sales for April, 2010 stood at 52,020 units as against 44,370 units in April, 2009 registering 17.2% cumulative growth. The domestic salesaccounted for 28,501 units as against 22,247 units in April, 2009 while the exports grew from 22,123 units in April, 2009 to 23,519 units in April, 2010 reflecting 6.3% growth YOY.
Commenting on HMIL’s sales performance Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “HMIL’s positive performance is a reflection of its strong product portfolio. The recently launched refurbished i20 has further strengthened its position, as it has received a tremendous response from the market and has become the growth driver for the segment. We are sure to see a continuous rise in demand for the i20”.
The segment-wise cumulative sales for the month of April 2010 are as follows: A2 Segment (Santro, i10, Getz & i20) 46,059 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 5,944 units; A5 Segment (Sonata Transform) 17 units; and SUV Segment ( Tucson) 0 unit.
