Mercedes-Benz India sales up two-fold in April 2010

Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India today reported a nearly two-fold jump in its monthly sales at 321 units in April, 2010.

The company had sold 178 units in the corresponding month last year, Mercedes-Benz India said in a statement.

"Our intensive customer engagements, aggressive product introductions coupled with deep network penetration and focus on customer delight have ensured that we are the preferred choice for luxury car aficionados. Our sales numbers reflect our traction with the market," Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Wilfried Aulbur said.

The car maker sold 127 units of the E-Class models, 147 units of the entry-level C-Class cars and 22 units of the luxury segment S-Class during April.

"Mercedes-Benz started the year with the presentation of the SLS AMG at the Auto Expo 2010. In the past four months, the company continued its aggressive product launch plans with 12 new products introduced since January 2010," Aulbur said.
