New Delhi, August 2nd, 2010: Riding on high growth trajectory backed by impressive product line-up, India Yamaha Motor has registered a growth of 30.3 % in sales during July 2010 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 29,728 units in July 2010 as against 22,807 units sold in July 2009. In domestic markets, the company sold 22, 899 units in July 2010 as compared to 17, 316 units in the same month last year. The export figures stood at 6,829 units in July 2010 while 5,491 units were exported in July 2009.
“Yamaha has been consistent in maintaining its north-ward sales graph which indicates that it has not only cemented its position in the Indian two-wheeler sector but also in the minds of its customers. Keeping in mind the customized needs of the Indian customers, Yamaha is planning to launch a slew of bikes very shortly. With these launches, we envisage a totally result-driven season for Yamaha for the rest of this year.” said Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.
Yamaha is continuing with its efforts to enhance consumer confidence by taking customer centric initiatives like Yamaha Safe Riding Science, Yamaha Service Camp as also racing events like Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship. After receiving a tremendous response from 3 rounds of R15 One Make Race Championship as part of the SIDVIN-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship-2010, Yamaha is set to bring the next round of championship which promises to be as much thrilling as the previous ones. Yamaha has modified the racing format for the Season 2010 by making it an open championship and has invited participation from both Yamaha and Non-Yamaha customers.
