It has been some time since Hyundai made its foray into the Indian market and in that time, the Korean auto company has become the second largest car manufacturer in India as well as the largest passenger car exporter in the country. In fact, having exported 10 lakh cars in just over one decade to more than 110 countries across the EU, Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Australia, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has been the number one exporter of passenger cars in India for the sixth year in a row. And in recognition of this feat, the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has conferred the 'All India Award for Export Excellence 2008-09' to the company.
Presenting this award to HMIL at a function in Bangalore was the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Anand Sharma. Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing & Sales, HMIL who collected the award for Hyundai commented, "We are delighted to receive this award for the fourth consecutive year. For the past few years, EEPC has been recognising our accomplishments and awarding us for excellence in exports. This award is a testimonial to our relentless hard work and commitment in ensuring 'Made in India' cars are driven in all corners of the world."
