Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) is the apex national body of automobile dealers authorized by vehicle manufacturers to engage in sale, service and spares of Two & Three Wheelers; Passenger Cars including Multi-Utility Vehicles; Commercial Vehicles including buses, trucks and off-road vehicles; and Tractors, manufactured by them. FADA was founded in 1964 by four Regional Auto Trade Associations to protect and promote the Indian retail automobile market. The Founder President of FADA was Late T S Santhanam of T S Group.
FADA has come a long way since its inception. Current membership strength comprises 20 associations of automobile dealers at the regional, State and city levels and over 1,500 individual members spread across the country, representing about 90% of the retail automobile trade in India. In addition to their main business activity of sale, service and spares of vehicles, FADA members also arrange finance and trade-ins. In some cases they also sell used cars. Other than automobile dealers, FADA has representatives of vehicle manufacturers, tyre manufacturers, insurance and finance sectors and other allied industries and trade, as supporting members.

FADA’s Activities
· Takes up issues of concern to automobile dealers with the government and the manufacturers for sustainable development of automotive business, including inputs for simplifying and streamlining procedures.
· Organizes training programmes under the aegis of FADA Academy
· Organises seminars, conferences, regional conventions & meetings and Open House Sessions with a view to sharing experiences and identifying problems and issues at local and regional levels for appropriate action.
· Organises a biennial convention of automobile dealers coinciding with Auto Expo – 5 such summits held so far
· Networking with similar bodies abroad for information sharing including exchange of visits
· Brings out publications of interest to auto industry and trade including a monthly Journal
· Media Relations – Regular interaction with media
