Bangalore, March 2009: Corolla Altis, the latest premium sedan from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), has achieved monthly sales of 512 units in February 2009 compared to 395 units in February 2008, in the prestigious C-Sedan segment in the Indian auto market. Sales of the Corolla Altis grew by 30% for the month of February 2009 over the same month in 2008.
Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM said, “Sales of the new 10th generation Corolla Altis have been very satisfying. We have been seeing a year on year growth in spite of a declining market. As the market is gradually picking up, we are likely to see a growth in sales of the Corolla Altis. We believe that the continued success of the Corolla Altis represents the faith our customers have in the Toyota brand.”
The all-new Corolla Altis is the 10th generation model launched in India, with an increased focus on passenger comfort and luxury. The vehicle’s features include an 8-way power driver seat, HID headlamps, steering wheel with audio controls and MID switch, and an Optitron meter. The Corolla Altis comes in 4 grades: the 1.8 G M/T, the 1.8 G(L) M/T , 1.8 J Executive (MT) and a top-end grade 1.8 V(L) A/T model.
The Corolla Altis has achieved 30% market share for Feb 09 compared to 14% during the same month last year in the premium mid-sized car segment.
Since its launch in 2003, the Corolla has set the benchmark in its segment and has met the aspirations of the Indian customer with innovative comfort and luxury features, in addition to the key strengths of Toyota, namely quality, durability and reliability.
