Skoda Auto Plans to Cross 20,000-Mark in 2010

Czech auto maker Skoda Auto, which plans to cross the 20,000-mark in 2010, will be opening 12 more boutique showrooms in the country by the end of this year.

Skoda Auto India Senior GM Sales and Marketing Ashutosh Dixit while talking to The Pioneer. “We have already opened three such boutiques in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and will be opening 12 more such showrooms by the end of this year in metros like Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore Chandigarh and other likewise cities,” Dixit added.

SkodaAuto India sold 16,000 cars in 2009 and is now targeting to cross the 20,000-mark in 2010. “We have aggressive plans for the country and will cross the 20,000 mark this year,” said Dixit.

Boutique showrooms are generally spread in the range of 1,000 square ft to 1,200 square ft and entail an investment of approximately 30 lakhs.

The boutique showrooms will also provide a platform for sneak previews of Skoda’s upcoming models. “These showrooms will also be a platform for some of our latest body style,” said Dixit.

SkodaAuto’s dealership footprint is spread across 65 outlets and covers 50 cities & towns in India. The company continues to expand its sales and service network to meet local demand and has set a target of reaching 75 dealerships.
